Every day presents itself with another daunting task that I used to wonder how parents who lost a child were able to accomplish. But here we are living every parent’s worst nightmare.
Julian’s obituary was posted yesterday. Writing it was emotionally exhausting. How the heck are you supposed to sum up your child’s life in a few simple sentences? Nothing you can say feels like it does your kid justice. There is absolutely no silver linings to this assignment. Just a reminder that there will be no more memories made with Julian.
We continue to be blessed with phone calls, flowers, food and messages from friends, family and perfect strangers. It’s incredibly humbling to be on the receiving end of all of this love and support and we know we will never be able to thank everyone properly.
Julian’s service will be tomorrow and we covet your prayers for our hearts all day.
“We shall call upon You in the day of our trouble,
You will deliver us and we will honor you.”
“My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise.”
Friends, we are living the day of trouble. Pray that God is near us and that through it all we will honor Him and see clearly His goodness all around.
Love to you all
